RE: 2009-2010 schoolyear
I would stick to my guns. For the simple reason that I don't like to conform to people and don't like to listen to people's advice. And it's more fun to stick to your grounds. OK this is a crap piece of advice, don't follow it.

LOL it would never work. She guilts me so much. "I work so hard for you and this is how you repay me blah blah blah disappointment blah blah blah disrespectful blah blah blah" and then there's the silent treatment. -__-' COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS UNTIL SEPTEMBER 2012!

She'll get over it once you prove her you've become a full adult and can be trusted (well on your way to get a good job, etc…). Because then she'll worry less, and there are even chances that she'll start trusting your judgement over hers on some topics (if you get higher studies than she did)

Nope, NEVER!

Seriously, I'm really mature for my age she knows that and admits to it. But even my brother who's nearly 18 years old is still controlled by her. He has a BEDTIME...honestly that's just disgusting "no matter what day it is you must go to bed at 11:30" -___-' I honestly don't listen since most of the time I'm upstairs in my room anyways on my laptop but I mean come on...he's pretty much a responsible teen and she treats him like he's 2. Fucking ridiculous.

It isn't really about the fact (that you're mature) but the appearance (you don't have a stable job yet, you don't have your diploma yet, you haven't risen to the status of "respectable member of an establishment" yet, you aren't 18 ‑ though that didn't seem to help your brother - , etc…) It is also about behaviour : people who behave like stereotypical adults and upper class are always seen as older and what they say tends to be valued more (except in some cases, like among working class men, etc… and then again, among the working class, it depends on whether they are conscious of their class status or not)
